Pre-Removal Risk Assessment

Canada is a signatory to many international conventions to protect human and international rights. So Canada is committed ensuring that people who are being removed from Canada are not sent to a country where they may be in danger or risk persecution. PRRA is only for people who are ordered removed by a competent authority in Canada. Such people are eligible for Pre-Removal Risk Assessment.
A PRRA applicant’s eligibility must be determined by an officer.

PRRA One Year Bar

You previously applied for a PRRA, or you made a claim for Refugee Status and your application for either PRRA or Refugee Status withdrawn or rejected or even abandoned, you cannot apply for a PRRA before 12 months have been passed. However, citizens of some countries are exempted from the bar. Also, you cannot apply for PRRA if:

  • You made a refugee claim that was not eligible to be referred to IRB because of safe third country agreement.
  • You can return to a country where you found to be a Convention Refugee.
  • You already are a protected person.
  • You are to be extradited to a country where Canada has an extradition treaty in effect.

If you are under the risk of removal and would like to apply for a PRRA Call us directly at 6479094439 or Contact Us at info@ciisimmigration.com
